THE JOURNAL ENDS SOMEWHAT ABRUBTLY. The crew – including Michael Spinks – were discharged three days later, on 8thApril 1826 (ledger). A small number of officers remained aboard for several weeks to oversee unstowing
of the hold and the discharging of cargo to the warehouses and de-rigging of the vessel.
According to the daily ‘distance sailed’ values given in the log (plus some added by me
manually by summing the ‘speed in knots’ column), it appears the total voyage distance was: 33,230 nautical miles. The ‘sea log’ itself covers 435 days (from 22ndJanuary 1825 to 1stApril 1826), of which
280 days (64%) were spent actually sailing, i.e. at sea, the remainder (nearly 36%) spent moored/stationary/in port (this does NOT include the time spent loading/unloading the ship in the Thames). This gives an average speed for Repulseduring
the entire voyage of 4.94 knots.

[1]From
Wikipedia: Pulau Serangoon, alternatively known as ConeyIsland, is a 45-hectare island located off the northeastern coast of Singapore, between Pulau Ubin to its northeast and the mainland to its southwest.
In an 1825 survey of the coastal
areas around Singapore by Crawfurd, Forrester, Lt. Jackson and Dr Johnson, Rabbit and Coney(meaning rabbit) islets were mentioned. An anonymous writer who wrote the Singapore Chronicle article noted on the sighting of the two islets, namely Rabbit
and Coney that: "The whimsical application to these two islets suggests some observations upon the fantastic names which have been given to places in this part of the world; not only by European navigators but by the natives of the country themselves.
There is scarcely any sense or meaning in the best of them. Pray, what is the difference between a rabbit and the coney?"

Reach, and was totally destroyed when she exploded with most of her cargo. All the crew were saved.
